You were designed for a purpose

FEB 22–24, 2019 | Mo-Ranch, Hunt Tx

The Men’s Summit is for YOU!  It is a weekend built for guys to unplug from their daily responsibilities in order to connect with God and other men.  When you take the time to do this you will find that God really does show up!

Join us for the weekend at Mo-Ranch Christian Conference Center.

  • SPEAKER: DAN LANCE

  • SPECIAL GUEST: TOM LANDIS

  • WORSHIP LEADER: CASEY MCPHERSON

This is not one more thing to “do”. This is a time to “be”. To be with other men. To be encouraged and refreshed. To be blessed. I hope you will join me and the other men and come to our 2019 Men’s Summit. I promise you an opportunity to find “more”!

- PASTOR HANEY

Featured Speaker: Dan Lance

Lance.jpg

Dan’s an entrepreneur, a restaurant owner, and a pastor. He currently owns two restaurants in Longmont, Colorado (outside Boulder), that helps to fund their non-profit called The Rooster Party – an organization that helps couples with the high cost of funding adoptions.

Dan will help us learn about the specific purpose that God has designed each of us for at this stage of our lives. Not only will we be challenged, but we’ll get to wrestle with this topic with the men at our table groups after each session!

Dan was born and raised in Riverside, CA. He has been married to his wife Alyssa for 20 years and they have 3 kids: Ezekiel – 15, Sofia – 12, and Moses – 10. He’s been a church planter, lead pastor, worship leader, and executive pastor for fourteen years at two different churches in California. He’s also a close friend of our Outreach Pastor, Aaron Foor.

After opening their non-profit, in 2013 Dan and Alyssa moved to Colorado where they opened two restaurants. Dan is currently an elder at Cornerstone Church in Boulder, CO, where he also serves as a worship leader and leads their men’s ministry. He believes in saying YES to Jesus and living a life of risk.

Special Guest: Tom Landis

On Saturday afternoon, Tom Landis will share an amazing story. Tom is the founder of Howdy Homemade, the first for-profit restaurant that employs people with special needs. While opening 13 restaurants over past two decades, Tom leads by prioritizing God, family, the other employees, customers and self.

He’s received many honors, including the Ryan Albers’ Lifetime Achievement Award, The Governor of Texas’ Lex Friedan Award for Best Small Business, The Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and his first franchise won Best Ice Cream in the State of Utah for 2018.

He currently has more than 50 people that want to franchise, and has an exclusive partnership with Dr Pepper to make and produce Dr Pepper flavored ice cream. Tom believes the best way to know business is to know people … the best way to know people is the Bible … and the best way to know the Bible is DTS. Which is sort of weird because he only went there for a semester and was drunk before, during and after most classes.

Landis was led to Jesus by Dr. Haney, and Jesus helped Landis with alcoholism and so many other issues. Landis lives in Dallas with his wife and two kids, but wishes he lived in Austin.

Worship Leader: Casey McPherson

McPherson.jpg

One of Austin’s most accomplished singer songwriters, he and his band Alpha Rev have toured extensively through the US and internationally. A recovering alcoholic and drug addict, Casey has a remarkable story of Christ’s intervention in his life through the music ministry of Riverbend Church. Casey is the worship leader at Riverbend for the Resonate service, lives in Austin, and is the proud father of two young girls.

Casey believes that God shows up when we get together to worship Him. So the band encourages the men to come with some expectation! He and his band will lead them in times of worship throughout the weekend, helping set the table for the men to encounter the living God, providing a platform to hear what He might say to them.

Be a part of the first Riverbend Women's mission trip! MAY 9–11.

We are excited to begin a new women's adventure in Peidras Negras, Mexico. Peidras Negras is a small town across from Eagle Pass. We will be working with a ministry called Hands and Feet Ministry. Hands and Feet works with a primary school, a special needs orphanage and about 5 other local churches.

Friday, May 10 is Mexico's Mother's Day. So we will be working together with the school to provide games, lunch and other fun activities for the children and their moms to make it a very special day.

We will be doing some work at the orphanage and the Immigrant Home, as well as spending time in the community getting to know the local culture. This is a great introduction to cross-cultural missions for you and your female friends.

$250 registration fee includes all transportation, meals, lodging and ministry activities. And you'll be back in Austin before our Mother's Day! :)

NEW Men's Bible Study Groups

Event-Registration-Men's Bible Study_1920x692.jpg

New Men's Group Study: THE BOOK OF JUDGES - video study with JD Greear

We have 12 men’s groups to choose from, located all over the city of Austin. If you are looking to join a Men's Bible Study, now is the time!

The Book of Judges cracks a window into depths of the human soul. Watch a nation struggle with its identity and relationship to its God. Heroes and heroines arise, who seem to have the potential to save Israel. But in the end, each proves to be a broken savior that cannot deliver.

In this series, pastor and author J.D. Greear wades into the book of Judges to shine a light onto the muddy waters of human rebellion. The stories and truths within are not just archaic tales with no relevance for us today. Rather, J.D. works through each chapter unpacking the truth of God’s grace in the midst of human wickedness, and shows how only the divine can redeem the fallen.

We have several groups that meet during a wide variety of times and locations during the week to help accommodate your schedule. You can select the group that fits your schedule during the registration process.

Cost: $10 (for the materials for this 11-week study)

New study: "What is the Bible?" by Rob Bell

Rob writes “some people see the Bible as an outdated book of primitive fairy tales”; while others view the Bible as the most important book we can ever read. This book provides insights and answers about how the Bible actually works as a source of faith and guidance. Class time will focus how the Bible actually does work giving insight to go deeper in reading, studying, and discussing this sacred text.

Join the group at 11:00AM on Sunday mornings in Room 204 as we seek new understandings of the Bible! Rev. Paulette Schwartz, Pastor of Care and Recovery teaches and facilitates discussions.

NOV 10 | 5:30PM | 7000 Cameron Rd, Austin, TX 78752

Give thanks this year by serving one of our mission partners, East Austin Neighborhood Development Center (EANDC).

We're looking for volunteers to serve along side our Community Groups on NOV 10, 5:30PM for the Thanksgiving Feast at our Proyecto Esperanza Neighborhood Development Center (NDC). This is a great opportunity for anyone to jump in and serve an amazing community at home here in Austin.

Pradeep Thorat has been busy making connections and training more than 200 people in English classes. He has invited us to participate with him by helping him host a Thanksgiving dinner for all the families who have gone through the program.

This is a time to serve people who usually do all the serving, and it is a time to share the reason why we come together to give thanks.

There will be around 250 people learning from us what our Thanksgiving celebration is all about. Please consider joining in to serve good food, eat good food, and make new friends with those who are wanting to practice their English.
