  • 9:45AM Celebration — Featuring choir and wide-ranging music styles, in our main auditorium, The Home for Hope.

Who is Riverbend Church?

What we believe

Come just as you are, and experience God's grace.

To make Austin a great place for all people as a leading spiritual voice in our community. Creating authentic community. Celebrating the arts in our community. Serving our community. Championing the message of God's grace.

We bless others as Christ has blessed us.

To serve the Bruised, Battered, Broken and Bored of our community and the world. Reclaiming, Restoring and Reproducing for the cause of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

What we value

We believe God welcomes us, just as we are, right where we are.

We believe we are created to create as a reflection of the character of our Creator.

We believe the tapestry of The Body of Christ is its beauty and genius.

We believe that the God of The Bible is a God of new beginnings and second chances.

We believe genuine faith works & there's no need to pretend you have it all figured out.

Who are our core leaders?

Dr. David Haney

Dave’s passion for leading a church for people who don’t like church has shaped his ministry. Dave and his wife Diane have three grown daughters; Cayah, Leah and Kaitlyn, all of whom have wound up in Austin, not simply to be near their family, but just because Austin is that awesome.

Peter Sleeper

Peter has a heart for teaching and a burden to figure out what the Church needs to become to help post-Christian people experience the caring love of Christ. Peter loves to spend time with his family, travel, play golf, surf, learn new things and have stimulating conversations with people.

Norman Schoenfeld

Norm works with the numerous volunteers at Riverbend, looking for ways to get them “involved”—serving others through Riverbend. Norm is part of the Church Council, Stewardship & Mission committees, and Men’s ministry. He oversees the operational areas of Riverbend Church.

Kevin Hedges

Kevin, his wife Mindy, and daughter Grace, are transplants from the San Francisco Bay Area by way of the foothills of Denver. Experiencing and embracing Austin with the love of Jesus, they hope to live out the blessing that everyday we are all waking up to what God is already doing.

Aaron Foor

Aaron and his wife, Emily, have four children: Noah, Haley, Allison, and Asher.  Aaron loves people and all of the diversity from the many cultures represented here in Austin.  He has been privileged to work with small church plants to mega churches and everywhere in between over the last 20 years.  His passion is to see people use their God-given ability and talent to serve others here in Austin and around the world.
