Care and Support @ Riverbend

Riverbend Church was founded as a place for healing, restoration, and recovery.

We recognize that everyone is at a different point on their life’s journey. If your journey has taken you to a place where you need someone to care, support, or just come alongside you on your way, we are here for you.

Pastoral Care

Stephen Ministers

Everyone goes through difficult seasons. Having someone to care, listen, and share God’s love can help you through any confusion, stress and loneliness you may be feeling. Stephen Ministers are part of the Pastoral Care Team at Riverbend. Stephen Ministers assist Riverbend's Pastoral Care Ministers and their blue name badges identify them.

  • They are servants, listeners, and supportive resource persons.
  • They listen, pray, share Christ's love, and attend to the care-giving process.
  • They are trained to care for individuals who are: grieving, in need of long-term care, dying, hospitalized, divorcing, experiencing losses as they age, or most other crises.
  • They maintain confidentiality, but are not licensed counselors.
  • They serve communion every Sunday in the Upper Room from 10:30–11:30AM.

Riverbend provides a unique place for loved ones to be remembered and/or memorialized. Whether it's a memorial service in our Smith Family Chapel or an intimate gathering in Remembrance Gardens, we are there to help you through this difficult time in your life. Remembrance Gardens offers a variety of ways to honor loved ones. You may  select a place for the ashes of a loved one, devote space to memorialize a life, or simply come to reflect on life's passages.

Financial Ministry

God wants us to have financial peace freedom whether in crisis, great abundance or somewhere in between. Our Financial Ministry strives to help you by providing financial education opportunities, one-on-one counsel, key resources, and engaging you in discussions about estate planning and giving.

The Bible is clear that we are stewards; we are managing everything for the owner, God.  Riverbend’s Financial Ministry goal is to help you discover and follow God’s wisdom regarding personal finances in such a way that it transforms personal financial behaviors, fosters more fruitful lives and leads us to exist not just for ourselves but for Christ and the world. The desired outcome will be a closer relationship with Christ, freedom from debt and consumerism, healthier relationships and the joy of generous living.

Financial education opportunities

Throughout the year, we offer various classes / seminars including:

  • PocketWatch – Financial Fitness Classes

  • Everybody Needs One – Estate Planning Seminar

  • Unlocking Social Security – Taking the Mystery out of Social Security

  • Financial Peace University – Handling Your Money Classes

Financial coaching

Sessions with a trained financial coach are available to give direction to
members or regular attendees. One-on-one coaching provides an
opportunity to receive personal and confidential guidance. Sessions are
in a grace-filled environment whether you are in a crisis, reducing financial
stress or desiring godly financial management skills.

Gift and estate planning

If God has blessed you with abundance, we would like to help you steward that well.  Please contact us to discuss charitable planning alternatives and special ways to give.
