You have the chance to radically change someone’s story and life
We believe that God has blessed us so that we can be a blessing to others at our church, around Austin, and across borders. How could God use you to impact someone’s life?
From local to global, we’re working to help people emotionally, practically, and spiritually. Our vision for mission and outreach is shaped by two guiding principles:
Poverty is complex
When we think of poverty, some stark images come to mind: children living in tin shacks, groups of homeless people gathered in small camps under an overpass, food pantries with long lines of hungry people. But these images don’t capture the full scope of how poverty plays out in the world.
We believe that all people have emotional, practical, and spiritual needs. The problems surrounding poverty can manifest when any of these needs are not being met: homelessness, malnutrition, human trafficking, to name a few.
At the root of our missions and outreach programs is a desire to address, and heal poverty — in all of its forms.
From Austin, across borders
As we look to tackle poverty, what should the reach of our efforts be? Jesus paints a clear picture for us in the book of Acts:
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. — Acts 1:8 (NIV)
Jesus draws a map from his location — his city, his nation, and the rest of the world.
This practical guide has shaped us over the last couple of years, as we look to care for people at our church, in our city, and across borders
