As a parent, some of the most important things you do for your child don’t all happen in a single day. You make small deposits in their life over time.

The Parent Cue App is an amazing resource that will help resource you to build in to the faith of your child. The weekly cues will change, staying relevant to your kids phase of life. The Bible stories, verses, and prompts in Parent Cue will help you encourage your kids with what they’re learning at Riverbend each week.

Riverbend has one of the most beautiful facilities in Austin, but we know it can also be a little confusing to navigate. Our RiverKids programs are divided by age and grade, and take place in the Nursery & Preschool Building, the lower-level of the Community Center, and the upper-level of the Student Center.

Nursery

We believe the development of your child's faith begins at a very early age. These beginning stages of spiritual development are the foundation upon which God builds a child's future faith. Since all children learn and develop differently, our nursery is divided by developmental stages providing children the opportunity to grow and learn at their own pace.

Preschool

We know and understand the importance of giving your preschooler the spiritual foundation of knowing who Jesus is. In our Preschool ministry we are focused on telling and teaching them, in a creative way, how they are loved so well and so completely by Jesus. All Bible lessons are designed to present the message of God's love in a way your child will understand and will be reiterated in our small group time, activities, crafts and Bible memorization.

Young elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all they are learning every day! We are dedicated to providing your child with the spiritual tools they will need to lead a life worthy of God's praise! Our goal is to tap into the way that children naturally learn so that they can begin to know who God is, how He sees them, and how much He loves them!

PreTeens (3rd-5th) are full of energy and that's why we have created an atmosphere that makes everyone, whether a first-time guest or a weekly attendee, instantly comfortable with an inviting open space that is full of fun and screams Jesus Rocks! Each week lessons are presented through music, media, and interactive games with a strong emphasis placed on relational ministry to connect with Biblical values and life applications.

Child Dedication

We have a special child dedication service 3–4 times per year. When your child is dedicated, the Pastors, staff, and congregation of Riverbend make a commitment to partner with you in helping your child throughout their faith journey.

Monthly Events

Friday Night Fun

Various Fridays throughout the year
6:30–9:00PM | K2 Theater

Drop your kids off with us, and enjoy a night out. We'll make sure your kids have an unforgettable night of fun. Expect games, competitions, pizza, and FUN!

This event is open to preschool (must be potty trained) and elementary kiddos.

daddy daughter dance

February 16, 2024

Riverbend's annual Daddy Daughter Dance has plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained - lots of dancing, food, and keepsakes to commemorate this wonderful time.

Christ Awareness

TBD, 2023

This Program is designed for all 3rd-5th grade kids that are interested in taking the next step in their faith walk. We will share the message of God’s plan of salvation, baptism and communion for their lives.

For children who have been baptized these classes serve as a good reinforcement with a message worth repeating. For other children who have not made a profession of faith, the classes give new insights into their relationship with Christ. We hope you will join us.

5th Grade Parent Meeting

May 7, 2023

This meeting is for all current 5th graders that will be moving into the middle school program for the new school year and their parents.

It's a great opportunity for you to meet the youth ministry team that will be pouring into your kiddos for years to come. They will share about the vision for the youth program and answer any questions you might have.

vacation bible school

June 3–7, 2024

Our program is designed specifically for ages 4 through current 4th graders. Each day will be filled with games, music, and fun as kids learn about how they can make a difference.

Promotion Sunday

August 6, 2023

As we get closer to the beginning of each school year, children are promoted to the next next age/grade level.

Please note that we do sometimes make exceptions in regards to promotion for children transitioning into preschool due to a child's individual development.

RIVERFEST

October 28, 2023

Don't miss our annual family fall festival. We will have a preschool midway, tons of inflatables, face painters, character drawers, balloon artist, cake walk, hay rides and all the free Kona ice you can eat.

We need lots of volunteers for this years Riverfest. We have lots of positions for you to choose from.
