A two-day event supporting and celebrating Austin’s artists, makers, and doers

Call for Art

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
FEBRUARY 16, 2024

Thank you for your interest in participating in Art at the Bend. This year's going to be bigger and better!
  • AATB is expanding exhibition space.
  • Artists keep 100% of sales.

About Art at the Bend

Art at the Bend (AATB) is an annual art weekend at Riverbend celebrating the diverse and inspiring makers that help keep Austin creative. This April, AATB is commandeering the Riverbend campus all-day Saturday and Sunday. And there’s something to offer everyone: music, art, handmade goods, the best of Austin cuisine and drinks, activities for the whole family and much more.

And here’s why you should participate…

Those who have submitted to the AATB call for art in the past may notice there have been a few changes. This year our gallery will be bigger and our market will be better, each specifically curated to enhance the event-goer’s experience. That’s why we’re asking all submitters to apply for either The Gallery or Makers’ Market – to drive the right audience to the right creator. Though AATB is the largest it’s ever been, space is still limited, so not all who submit will be accepted.

All selected creators’ handmade treasures will be for sale, either in a gallery exhibition space indoors, or outside on the Riverbend Plaza in a Makers’ Market booth. And, unlike in the past, a percentage of sales will NOT be required. The individual artist/artisan will control all their own transactions. We will be collecting a flat $75 booth rental fee to supplement costs.

There is a $25 submission fee.

When

April 13 & 14, 2024
Saturday, April 13, 10AM-5PM
Sunday, April 14, 10AM-3PM

Where

Riverbend Centre
4214 N Capital of Texas Hwy
Austin, TX 78746

What is the Makers’ Market?

Calling all Artisans! The Makers’ Market is your opportunity to get handcrafted goods into the hands of the people who want to celebrate and support your gifts. This sprawling bazaar, strategically placed to draw heavy foot traffic, will fill the wide, limestone plaza at the heart of the Riverbend campus. While we anticipate great weather conditions for April, coverage will be provided upon request while supplies last.

About Us

Riverbend Centre

At Riverbend, we are deeply passionate about support and creating art. Austin fully embraces the crazy, quirky, weird, and wonderful — and our Riverbend Community strives to do the same. Just as we are all created in God’s image, we believe that God is reflected in all forms of creativity. We believe that faith, much like art, is seldom a one-size-fits-all experience, and we want to be a church that reflects the breadth and contrast of God’s creative palette.
