Beliefs & Values
Our vision is to be a welcoming community, in service to others, compelled by God’s grace.
Our mission is to serve the bruised, battered, broken and bored of our community and the world, reclaiming, restoring, and reproducing, for the cause of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
Everyone has a unique faith journey, and we’d love to be a part of yours.
We believe church should feel like home—where questions are honored, stories are shared, and lives are shaped by something bigger than ourselves.
Our vision is simple: to be a welcoming community, in service to others, compelled by God’s grace. That grace drives everything we do, from how we gather and worship, to how we care for one another, to how we serve our community on campus, in Austin, and around the world.
Our mission is to serve the bruised, battered, broken and bored of our community and the world, reclaiming, restoring, and reproducing, for the cause of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.
No matter who you are or what you believe, you are welcome here.
Our community is built on five core pillars:
-
We believe in living out love through action—meeting needs, lifting burdens, and being the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need it most.
-
Life is better together. We create space for authentic connection and real relationships across all walks of life.
-
Families come in many different shapes and sizes – from one child to many, and from nuclear to blended to adopted to extended to single-parent. Here at Riverbend, we believe God has perfectly pieced together your family and its unique, idiosyncratic personalities for a purpose, and we want to help cultivate that purpose.
-
We’re all on a unique faith journey. Wherever you are on your faith spectrum, we want to meet you where you’re at and help you grow.
-
We believe that art is an extension of our faith and a reflection of our Creator. We gather to celebrate God’s goodness through music, teaching, prayer, and communion, seeking to honor and glorify God through artistic expressions.
