A Different Kind of Concert Experience
The Riverbend Centre for the Arts' vision is to enrich and inspire our diverse city by presenting performances of quality, educational, and artistic excellence in a welcoming environment. Through concerts, performances, and community events, we seek to cultivate meaningful experiences that encourage both artistic expression and a deeper sense of community.
The Unplugged Concert Series is one of the many ways we live out that vision. In a world filled with constant noise, distraction, and busy schedules, Unplugged offers an opportunity to slow down for an evening, enjoy great live music, and connect with others in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Each concert highlights talented local artists and gives audiences the chance to “unplug” from the pace of everyday life while supporting the vibrant, creative community here in Austin.
Carolyn Wonderland
Carolyn Wonderland, with her dynamic guitar playing, formidable songwriting, and pure Texas vocals, has more than earned her reputation as a fiercely independent artist. Wonderland plays original, bluesified, cosmic soul music, mixed with heavy doses of Tex-Mex and riff-fueled rock ‘n’ roll. She has been performing professionally since the age of 15 and has led a colorful and adventurous life. On the road her entire career, she’s played with icons from Townes Van Zandt to Levon Helm, from Buddy Guy to Hubert Sumlin, from Bob Dylan to John Mayall, all while writing her own story.
