What we value

We believe God welcomes us, just as we are, right where we are.

We believe we are created to create as a reflection of the character of our Creator.

We believe the tapestry of The Body of Christ is its beauty and genius.

We believe that the God of The Bible is a God of new beginnings and second chances.

We believe genuine faith works & there's no need to pretend you have it all figured out.

Who are our leaders?

Riverbend leadership

Dave’s passion for leading a church for people who don’t like church has shaped his ministry. Dave and his wife Diane have three grown daughters; Cayah, Leah and Kaitlyn, all of whom have wound up in Austin, not simply to be near their family, but just because Austin is that awesome.

Peter has a heart for teaching and a burden to figure out what the Church needs to become to help post-Christian people experience the caring love of Christ. Peter loves to spend time with his family, travel, play golf, surf, learn new things and have stimulating conversations with people.

Norm works with the numerous volunteers at Riverbend, looking for ways to get them “involved”—serving others through Riverbend. Norm is part of the Church Council, Stewardship & Mission committees, and Men’s ministry. He oversees the operational areas of Riverbend Church.

Kevin, his wife Mindy, and daughter Grace, are transplants from the San Francisco Bay Area by way of the foothills of Denver. Experiencing and embracing Austin with the love of Jesus, they hope to live out the blessing that everyday we are all waking up to what God is already doing.

What is membership at Riverbend Church?

Inside Riverbend

Inside Riverbend is an opportunity for those desiring to become members of the church to learn more about its mission, values and beliefs in a casual, welcoming, and intimate gathering. It's a special time where you can learn about the history of Riverbend, ask questions, meet Dr. Haney and hear directly from him about what it means to be a member of Riverbend Church! You can also visit with other Pastors & Ministry Team Members to learn more about our ministries. Childcare is available with advance notice.

Our next INSIDE RIVERBEND Membership Dinner

AUG 23 @ 6:00PM  |  Fellowship Hall

Inside God's Design classes

Riverbend offers a series of three classes, designed to give you a Biblical understanding of how God has designed us to be in relationship with Him, and how He desires us to live our lives. We encourage you to consider attending the following classes. Please check the ones you will plan to attend.

APR 15 @ 12:30PM
Plaza View Room

This class will help you begin to understand the unique gifts that God gives to each Christian, and how you are to use them to help Him build His church and how to serve here at Riverbend.

Our Faith

APR 16 @ 6:30PM
Plaza View Room

In this class we will explore the basis of our faith—who was Jesus, and what does it really mean to have a relationship with Him?  What does that mean for how we live our lives differently than perhaps we do today?

Our Generosity

APR 22 @ 12:30PM
Plaza View Room

In this class we will give you a Biblical overview of how God challenges us to give back to him a portion of what He has given to us. How to live our lives for Him as a form of worship.
