OCT 12 | Riverbend Church
Brave Day 2019 is a one-day event hosted by the women of Red Tent Living in Austin, TX. Featuring the music of Nichole Nordeman as well as a full day of inspiring teaching and conversation, Brave Day 2019 will encourage you to connect more deeply with the narratives of women in the Bible and to consider how those women's stories mirror your own. With keynote speakers Nichole Nordeman, Tracy Johnson, Danielle Rueb-Castillejo, Katy Johnson, and Eliza Cortes Bast, this day of encouragement will uniquely equip you and your friends to engage with God and one another more deeply and to live your daily story more intentionally.
With 9 Dove Awards—including two for “Female Vocalist of the Year”—Nichole’s music has always been inspired by her stories, questions, mysteries, doubts, weakness, courage, sorrows, revelation and truth. Bringing her haunting melodies, gorgeous hooks, and lilting voice to new endeavors, Nichole works out her salvation with faith and trembling yet again, in ways that promise to move.
With a certificate in trauma-focused narrative therapy through The Allender Center at The Seattle School of Psychology and Theology, Tracy now works as a spiritual counselor at Restoration Counseling where her joy is to sit with clients taking a deeper journey into their stories to experience healing and spiritual transformation. Founder of Red Tent Living, Tracy has invited women around the world to share their stories and collaboratively reframe femininity.
Mother of four and wife of one awesome Mexican, Danielle is currently working towards an MA in Counseling & Psychology at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. Danielle also works and volunteers part-time at an organization in Seattle that advocates for the agency and freedom of commercial sex workers, Real Escape from the Sex Trade. A survivor herself, she continues to fight for sanity and love every day.
Working in writing and communications for nearly the last decade, Katy has learned to embrace words as her profession, creative release, healing balm, and grounding truth. Over the course of her career, Katy has served as an award-winning copywriter, editor and research assistant for a number of published works, book reviewer for the American Academy of Religion, as well as featured writer in USA Today and Red Tent Living. Katy spends her “free time” completing her Master of Arts in Theology.
