Wedding Package Information
Wedding package
Please use the Riverbend Wedding Coordinator, Bren Puryear, for all weddings and wedding-related events at the church. The extent of her involvement can vary according to the desires of the wedding party. Bren's duties include:
- Pre-wedding consultation after wedding is confirmed
- Liaison between the Event Department and wedding party for set up
- Direction of wedding rehearsal and wedding ceremony
- Wedding protocol
Riverbend's Wedding Coordinators: Bren Puryear, Pearl Nanninga and Tracy Brown. Please note that Bren Puryear will be the initial contact, and one month out from the wedding one of these wedding coordinators will become the coordinator for your wedding day. Choosing a minister
Reserving the church facility does not include the services of a minister. If you would like a Riverbend Minister to perform your ceremony, you must arrange this separately. Please contact Pat Abbott at 512.845.6306 or Kip Nanninga at 327.3540, ext. 229. Minister's honorarium should be arranged by the groom prior to the ceremony. We welcome pastors of other churches to perform ceremonies at Riverbend. Please approve this request with the Wedding Coordinator. The marriage license shall be presented to the minister before the wedding ceremony. It shall be the responsibility of the groom to provide a tuxedo (if required) for the minister. We recommend pre-marital counseling prior to your wedding with the Minister performing the wedding. Riverbend offers a series of seminars entitled "Building Healthy Marriages" twice yearly that will enhance your relationship and help you to better know each other. Booking your wedding
The fee for use of the Smith Family Chapel for weddings include the basic cost for the Wedding Coordinator, audio assistance, and normal custodial duties. Please refer to Fees for chapel rental cost.
Weddings may be scheduled in the Smith Family Chapel 18 months in advance at the following times:
- Saturday 10:00 AM ceremony, Chapel Access, 8:00 - 11:00 AM
- Saturday: 2:00 PM ceremony, Chapel Access, 12:00 - 3:00 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 PM ceremony, Chapel Access, 4:00 - 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 PM ceremony, Chapel Access, 5:00 - 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 5:00 PM ceremony, Chapel Access, 3:00 - 6:00 PM
To book a date for a wedding you must give a 50% deposit payable by cash, credit card or check. This amount is nonrefundable unless cancelled 6 months prior to the event. The balance of payment is due 90 days prior to the event and is nonrefundable.
To book your wedding on our church calendar, you will need to complete and return the Wedding Agreement Form along with your 50% deposit to the Wedding Coordinator. To check your date, call the Wedding Coordinator. Please remember the date will not be reserved until your deposit has been received. To avoid embarrassing errors, please announce your wedding date after it has been confirmed on the Riverbend calendar and the officiating minister has been secured.
Wedding Rehearsals
Wedding Rehearsals are ordinarily booked for 6:00 p.m. the day prior to the wedding unless otherwise specified. The Wedding Coordinator or a designated assistant will administer rehearsals. If two weddings are booked for the same day, the first wedding booked will have precedence in scheduling the rehearsal. Rehearsals will be limited to one hour, usually the day before the ceremony.
Riverbend's first commitment will always be to our church programs. For this reason, we cannot book weddings on the following dates: Good Friday, Easter weekend, Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving weekend, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. We also do not book on the following additional holidays: Independence Day, Halloween, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. No weddings may be booked for Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings.
Fees
$1,400 - Price assumes a 4-hour time period (which includes a one-hour rehearsal the day before the ceremony), and includes: Wedding Coordinator, Sound Person, Janitorial Services
$1,100 - Riverbend Church Members are entitled to a $300 discount off the regular price for same services as above.
