Classes for Camp Riverbend are offered for children ages 12 months (by June 1, 2012) through 7 years (children currently attending 1st grade).
Camp Riverbend classes will be held June 12 through June 28 and July 10 through July 26, 2012 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays. There will be no camp during the week of July 4th. Classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day during our 6-week program.
Teachers will provide creative age-appropriate activities in a loving, Christian environment. Camp Riverbend will be full of nature and discovery activities which will encourage higher thinking and problem solving while promoting positive social interactions in a safe, caring environment. Activities will include indoor center play, outdoor play and recreation, story time, creative movement and music, which will include simple tumbling, imaginative play, obstacle courses, non-competitive games, songs, body movement and an introduction to rhythm instruments. Chapel will be held weekly for children ages 3 to 7 years. Special activities will be planned for the children including splash days, picnics, special guests and a pizza & popsicle party.
What to Bring
Parents are responsible for providing a nutritious snack and lunch each day. Jarred baby food and bottles will not be permitted in any age group. Toddlers should bring finger foods and be able to drink from a spill proof cup. Children should also bring a labeled water bottle each day to stay well hydrated on the playground. Riverbend Christian School reserves the right to limit or ban any food, such as nut products or foods considered to be choking hazards, on a class by class basis. Provide disposable diapers for non-potty trained children and at least one change of clothes for children up to 4 years. Depending on enrollment, children under age 2 may nap during the camp day, so please be prepared to provide blanket, lovey, pacifier or other items needed for nap time. Please provide sunscreen before bringing your child to class. Label every item your child brings to school with a permanent marker. Please dress children in comfortable clothing in which they can manipulate. All walking children must wear closed toed shoes (no flip flops or sandals).
Lone Star Science Camp
Children currently attending kindergarten and first grade will be a part of our Lone Star Science Camp. Our school-aged children will be introduced to a wide variety of experiments and wonders. From glow in the dark discoveries to mentos geysors to quicksand, your child is sure to learn something new this summer. Enrollment is limited in this class, so if the class fills before registration ends, we will begin a separate wait list for this class and will admit additional children only if a child withdraws.
Registration
Registration for Camp Riverbend 2012 will be held for currently enrolled families from March 26-29. Registration forms will be available March 19 at the school office and will be posted here as well for your convenience. We will accept registration forms and the first half of tuition at the school office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. during the registration dates. We will accept registration forms from currently enrolled children and their siblings.
Official Riverbend Church Members can register at the school office on Friday, March 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration forms will be posted here and also available at the registration. The first half of tuition will be due at the time of enrollment.
We do not hold registration for non-members for our summer program. Beginning March 26, we will collect names for our non-member waiting list. After church member registration on March 30, we will use the non-member waiting list to fill any remaining openings. Tuition & Fees
Tuition for Camp Riverbend 2012 is $420 per child. The first half of tuition ($210) is due at the time of registration. This fee is 100% non-refundable if you withdraw after Friday, May 4, 2012. The final payment will be due on Tuesday, June 12. There are no fees to be added to the waiting list.
Drop off is at the classroom at 9:00 a.m. Pick up is promptly at 1:30 p.m. Late charges may apply if children are not picked up by 1:30. There are no refunds or discounts for unplanned absences or planned missed camp days.
Required Forms
In addition to the registration form, the following forms are also required for your child to attend Camp Riverbend:
- Notarized Emergency Medical Authorization
- Emergency Care Card
- Immunization Record Meeting the State Vaccine Requirements
- Signed Health Statement from Doctor
If your child has been enrolled at Riverbend Christian School during the 2011-2012 school year, we will transfer your child's records automatically. If your child was not enrolled, please provide forms on the first day of camp.
