Philippians Precept Study

How do I live the Christian life joyfully regardless of people or circumstances? What is the purpose of suffering and the Christian perspective on death? Do I have "the mind of Christ"? Discover true, deep-down joy in your life that the world cannot take away!

For those new to Precept, we follow the Inductive Study Method. This method is an investigative approach to the Bible using three basic components: Observation, Interpretation, and Application. In this approach, individual time spent observing Scripture to know what the Bible says and using sound principles of interpretation to understand what it means can result in a God-honoring and fulfilling life of application of the scriptures.

Although individual study is the first step, we encourage group discussion of personal observations and insights so confirmation, clarification, and correction are made in the fellowship of other students. Discussion of the Bible's truths helps seal them in our minds and sharing application encourages us to greater obedience and holiness.

This is a 16-week in-depth Bible study incorporating individual study, weekly group discussion and DVD-led lecture.

Class begins on Thursday, January 19, 2012

Inside God's Design

Riverbend offers a series of three classes, designed to give you a Biblical understanding of how God has designed us to be in relationship with Him, and how He desires us to live our lives.  We encourage you to consider attending the following classes.

INSIDE GOD'S DESIGN: Our Faith.  Dr. Haney teaches this class next Thursday night, May 24th, from 7:00 - 8:00pm in the Plaza View Room.  He will explore with you the basis of our faith - who was Jesus, and what does it really mean to have a relationship with Him?  What does that mean for the future and how we live our lives differently than perhaps we do today?  Childcare is provided if prior arrangements are made by registering below.

INSIDE GOD’S DESIGN: Developing My Generosity . In this class, we will give you a Biblical overview of how God challenges us to give back to him a portion of what He has given to us.  How to live our lives for Him as a form of worship.  This class will meet Sunday morning, May 27th from 11:00 - 12:00 noon in Building 5B.  Children can attend the children's program that meets at that hour.

INSIDE GOD’S DESIGN: Discovering My Spiritual Gifts This class will help you begin to understand the unique gifts that God gives to each Christian and how you are to use them to help Him build His church.  Discover how God has wired you uniquely to serve here at Riverbend.  This class will meet on Sunday morning, June 3rd from 11:00 - 12:00 noon in Building 5B.  Children can attend the children's program that meets at that hour.

This three-part course is offered free of charge.  Click here to register online, or contact kross@riverbend.com, or 327-3540 X 267.
