ANGELS AFOOT-Angels Afoot works year-round with ten area agencies to provide support to children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse and neglect. In 2003, Riverbend provided more than 5,000 gifts through the Angels Afoot Christmas project and supported birthday celebrations for the children.
   

AUSTIN CHILDREN'S SHELTER
-The Austin Children's Shelter is a private, non-profit organization providing emergency care and assessment services to abused, neglected and abandoned children, ages birth-seventeen years. Riverbend has many wonderful volunteers that help this organization.
   
AUSTIN AREA INTERRELIGIOUS MINISTRIES (AAIM)- makes life and home improvements for low-income homeowners, gives young people a new direction, encourages the artistic talents of homeless persons and welcomes new refugees.
   
CARE TEAM MINISTRY- Believing Jesus to be our model for demonstrating grace and compassion to those who are sick and dying, we minister to persons infected with the HIV virus and those affected by the disease.
   

 




CARITAS OF AUSTIN -
Since 1964, Caritas has provided a safety net for our community's working poor, homeless and legal refugees to meet their emergency basic needs, and to inspire and assist in their achievement of economic self-sufficiency.

CASA - helps secure safe, permanent homes for all severely abused and neglected children. It is the only program in Austin that provides long-term advocates for severely abused and neglected children and a juvenile intervention program for children in crisis. Contact Linda Carter at 459-2272 to help with this organization.

   


FEEDING FRIENDSIES - Feeding Friendsies prepares delicious, homemade meals at a minimal cost for church members to purchase for others in cases of a recent birth, sickness or death. Join the Friendsies in the kitchen and be part of a ministry that nurtures our church family.

Habitat for Humanity builds homes for low-income, needy families. This is an active group that welcomes everyone, regardless of skill level. There's something for everyone to do on the job site, from carpentry to serving water!
