A Way Of Embracing Austin Through Its Native Tongue Of Art.
Created as a showcase for local artists that needed a place to display their works, Riverbend established the Inspiration Gallery and has hosted a bevy of artists, from the well-established, like Mark Kohler, to the bleeding edge art of Austinite Bill Stidham, and including the emerging art of some of the most talented graduates of the University of Texas' art programs. The Paintings
In 2010 I had a calling to stop all other commercial jobs
and paint fifteen heads of Christ using the Old Masters Technique. During
this time my art has taken me on a creative and spiritual journey into
Christianity. I knew relatively little about the Bible yet felt through
these paintings I was beginning to know Christ and receive a love the depth of
which I have not known before.
I meditate and pray daily, asking what
do You want me to do today and am usually led to access the deepest part of me
and paint.
