10-WEEK STUDY BEGINNING THE WEEK OF MAY 14
MEN: We get you have a lot on your plate: work, family, community . . . lots of commitments. We are men. We get it!
What gets squeezed out so often is the opportunity to transcend all the busyness and challenges of life to get to and stay focused on what matters the most.
- You can break through the isolation all the busyness and challenges create.
- You don’t have to figure things out on your own.
- There is something you can do about it.
This CORE study helps address the most central questions in life, “Who am I?” and “What am I made for?” It’s designed to explore these questions together with other men, and to wrestle with it together, as you seek what God has to say.
At Riverbend we have 12 different Men’s Groups to choose from, that meet at different days, times, and locations across Austin in order for you to select the one that best suits your schedule.

What are the expressions of genuine character according to God’s design, and when will we know that we have them?
Dying to Live: Romans 12:1-2
To recognize who we are by God’s design, first of all, takes an awareness that we hold a fake ID to begin with. The first step in realizing our identity in Christ is to understand that we belong to Him and no one else.
What’s On Your Mind: Romans 12:2
After we come to terms with what it takes to even begin to know who we are, we follow that up with an exercise for transformation. Our identity is shaped by what are told about ourselves by others as well as ourselves.
The Great REveAL Romans 12:3-8
In light of who God has made you to be, with a personality and skill set, how does the real you jive with who you want to be, and the you everyone else hopes you are. The real will be revealed.
Love God. Love People. Romans 12:9-10
If we are to be identified as followers of Jesus by the way we love in this world , it is necessary for us to be about doing it. To love is not only the supreme command given to us by God, but it is essential to our purpose for being made in His image.
Riverbend offers a series of three classes, designed to give you a Biblical understanding of how God has designed us to be in relationship with Him, and how He desires us to live our lives. We encourage you to consider attending the following classes.
DEVELOPING MY SPIRITUAL GIFTS
APR 15 @ 12:30PM
Plaza View Room
This class will help you begin to understand the unique gifts that God gives to each Christian, and how you are to use them to help Him build His church and how to serve here at Riverbend.
APR 16 @ 6:30PM
Plaza View Room
In this class we will explore the basis of our faith—who was Jesus, and what does it really mean to have a relationship with Him? What does that mean for how we live our lives differently than perhaps we do today?
DEVELOPING MY GENEROSITY
APR 22 @ 12:30PM
Plaza View Room
In this class we will give you a Biblical overview of how God challenges us to give back to him a portion of what He has given to us. How to live our lives for Him as a form of worship.
Join us on Sunday night, April 22, 2018, 5:30pm, for dinner at the brand new COMMUNITY CENTER at Riverbend Church. Sheri and Jim Ford will be preparing a wonderful dinner for us prepared in our new state of the art commercial kitchen.
We’ll be celebrating all that God has done this past year which was made possible through the because GRACE vision campaign, as well as all that He will continue to do into this next year. COME, be INSPIRED, as you watch and listen to amazing stories of His transformational work.
As we celebrate we’ll be thanking all of those who are participating in Because GRACE, and inviting others to join in the opportunities to extend grace beyond our walls, as we continue to expand our ministry and bless others as we’ve been blessed. While there is no cost for the dinner, we ask that you come prepared to make a donation.

FEB 14 | 7AM or 12PM | Chapel
You are invited to join us for an Ash Wednesday Service in the Chapel. We will offer two times for you to come: 7:00AM or 12:00PM.
Ash Wednesday begins the season of sacrifice in the Christian calendar called Lent. Christians for centuries have practiced Lent as a way to prepare their hearts for Christ’s death and resurrection.
Come and engage the Easter story in a meaningful way by worshipping together in this season of sacrifice. Consider fasting for either breakfast or lunch and join us for a time of reflection and worship. On Ash Wednesday, we recognize our own season of wandering from God, where we feel distant and aloof, and it is an opportunity to see God’s desire to draw us back into his embrace.
Join us, beginning the week of JAN 15, for a new study by Tony Evans
Comfortable Christianity often means a weak Christianity. In this study on John’s three letters, Dr. Tony Evans challenges Christians who have grown comfortable and complacent in their faith. Fellowship with God is the essence of our faith, and Tony walks through 1, 2 & 3 John to paint a picture of love, obedience, and truth. In a world that hates Jesus, we are called to love Him and His people with a fierce love.
